This project entails the refurnishing and restyling of an entire house for a special client, Mr. T.
THE STORY
The design is closely linked to Mr. T’s fun-loving character and to the (in the best way possible) child inside of him.
Nearly each one of us at some point in our childhood have been told that we are not allowed to draw on the walls, right? We are taught to draw within the lines and stay within a page’s boarders.
One of the joys of growing up and building one’s own house, as in the case of Mr. T, is that we can then set our own rules, paint on walls and break free from any “norms” or guidelines from our past.
CONCEPT
Some of the biggest splashes of fun can be found behind closed doors, where one’s true colours can unfold, as can can be seen in the bathrooms, which become an entire canvas of full immersion, where even the fish explore beyond the limits of their water bowls.
THE PERFECT CAVAS
Mr. T’s walls served as the perfect canvas for playful creativity! The idea of drawing outside the box can be seen on the walls, where colour and paint merge walls to ceiling. The doors white frames extend beyond their original form and outside of their normal boarders.
